• Welcome to the Media Factory

Two Organizations Found One Home

Vermont Community Access Media (VCAM) and the Regional Educational Television Network (RETN) – now merged into the Media Factory – co-located in 2007 at 208 Flynn Avenue in Burlington's South End. During that time RETN and VCAM together successfully built a state-of-the-art media education classroom, a low power FM radio station (99.3 WBTV-LP), a new server room in partnership with CCTV/Town Meeting Television to house all of our technical channel operations, and rebranded our shared facility as the Media Factory.

In 2018, our boards entered a joint strategic planning process and assessment of community needs. The resulting plan called for RETN and VCAM to officially combine forces as the Media Factory to create a vibrant, 21st century community media center - ensuring that the Media Factory remains an essential community resource well into the future. The Media Factory merger was made official in April 2021.
