Media Factory Distribution Coordinator (non-exempt)
40 hours a week, reports to Content & Distribution Director
Description:
The Distribution Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of programming schedules for multiple Media Factory cable television channels and assists the Content & Distribution Director with web-based content delivery. This position coordinates the workflow of Media Factory Community Producer content submissions and ensures that all programming adheres to Media Factory TV channel and radio programming policies.
The Distribution Coordinator is comfortable working both independently and on teams, and maintains a high level of professionalism when engaging with the public. This position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, methodical problem solving, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Content & Distribution Director to plan and implement programming schedules for Media Factory cable television channels and WBTV-LP FM
- Support online and OTT distribution of Media Factory-produced and user-generated content
- Provide communication to Media Factory community producers and partners regarding program scheduling details and field their scheduling requests
- Distribute up-to-date programming information to relevant outlets
- Work with the Content & Distribution Director to support content workflows and synergies between radio and television distribution
- Support Content & Distribution Director with quality control of programming and monitoring of Media Factory television channels and web streams
- Acquire programming under the direction of the Content & Distribution Director

Media Factory Education Coordinator
40 Hours per week, reports to the Community Engagement Director
Overview
The Media Factory Education Coordinator works with the Community Engagement Director and other staff to support the Media Factory and WBTV-LP community of learners and producers, and to cultivate positive community relations. They conduct and coordinate regular monthly educational offerings and assist or lead other workshops and courses. They work with the Community Engagement Director to refine and develop course offerings to meet the goals of the Media Factory. Additionally they work with the Media Technology Manager to support management of the Media Factory Classroom and related equipment and software.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate workshop/course scheduling, and associated staffing and equipment needs for workshop instructors
- Instruct workshops/courses
- Assist with the creation, organization, and archiving of workshop and course materials
- Assist Community Engagement Director in planning and preparing workshops and courses
- Work with the Community Engagement Director to support the learning needs of Media Factory educational partners
- Cultivate the engagement of community producers in learning opportunities at the Media Factory
- Research and test equipment for use in workshops and for public reservations
- Oversee the management of the Media Factory Classroom and classroom rentals
- Coordinate production of supplementary educational videos and tutorials
- Work with staff to maintain Education Department pages on the Media Factory website

- Represent the Media Factory at intern and career recruitment fairs and other community events
- Assist in tracking and reporting of workshop and facility use analytics

MEDIA FACTORY 360 INTERNSHIP
Media Factory invites people interested in the media industry to apply for our Media Factory 360 Internship Program. The 8 week paid internship introduces those interested in a career in media to a full-circle view of the jobs that make a community media center operate, while also completing a personal portfolio project.
What to Expect:
- Weekly meetings with the internship team (Tuesday 11am-1pm).
- A rotation through production, education, marketing, and distribution departments to shadow, support, and learn. This may include:
- A shift working with a Production Technician to support community producers.
- The opportunity to assist on a production team in the field.
- Assisting the education staff to conduct a workshop.
- Creating a blog post or social media campaign.
- Learning about equipment repair and maintenance.
- Interviewing a radio programmer.
- Creating a playlist of curated content for the website.
- Additional time with staff in the department of your interest.
- Time to work independently on your own project.
Time and Compensation:
10 hours per week for 8-10 weeks at $15/hr
