Media Factory Reopening Information

The Media Factory will be reopening in a limited fashion, with new health and safety policies and procedures to protect staff and members. Below, you’ll find details pertaining to specific day-to-day operations including studio reservations, edit suites, the radio station, and our workshops.

Please note we are limiting our reservations to specific days of the week:

 

Curbside Equipment
Mondays (10am - 4pm) & Thursdays (1pm - 7pm)

Edit Suite
Wednesdays (10am - 4pm) & Fridays (10am - 4pm)

TV Studio 
Wednesdays (10am - 4pm) & Fridays (10am - 4pm)

TV Studio Reservations

Wednesday/Fridays | 10AM-4PM

Studio reservations will be reopening to members on a limited, appointment only basis. Walk-ins are no longer available at this time. Additionally, we are only booking shows from 10-4. This is subject to change in the future. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance to allow for scheduling staff members.

There are two options available when booking an appointment:

  • Call (802)651-9692 and leave a voicemail on the Reservations phone line or speak with a Production Technician.
  • Email reservations@mediafactory.org

We’ll return your call or reply to your email within 24 hours to book your appointment.

Please note the new requirements when entering and using our studio space:

  1. Temperature checks and health surveys must be completed by every producer and guest upon arrival.
  2. You must wash your hands upon arrival and before entering the space. Soap is provided in the hallway bathrooms.
  3. Use of a mask is required at all times, even during recording. No exceptions.
  4. Shows of one-hour in length can book a maximum of 90 minutes at a time.
  5. Studio shows with more than one participant must exhibit proper physical social distancing of six feet between individuals.
  6. The control room and all areas past the control room are limited to staff only to minimize contact.
  7. A maximum of one producer and one guest is allowed per reservation with proper social distancing.
    1. Additional guests can be accommodated virtually via Zoom or similar video calling software.
    2. Shows with more than one individual must keep the doors open during production.
    3. Shows with more than one individual must be limited to 30-minutes.
  8. A minimum of two hours is required between studio shows.

Edit Suites

Wednesdays/Fridays | 10AM-4PM

Due to the high touch nature of our edit suites we are unable to book more than one individual at a time. We are also imposing a time limit of two hours per reservation. There are two options available when booking an appointment:

If you have a computer of your own we are allocating temporary account assignments for at-home use of our Adobe software. To book an Adobe account, please contact Matt Goudey via email at matt@vermontcam.org.

For programmers that cannot produce their shows from home, we are reopening the radio booth for pre-recorded show appointments - live shows are unavailable at this time. You must be a WBTV-LP programmer in order to book the radio booth. For reservation requests, please contact Athena Kafantaris at athena@mediafactory.org

Content Submissions

Content submission can currently only be facilitated via online submission or tape/hard-drive drop off. If you’re already a submitting producer or member, you’ll need to fill out the web submission form at vermontcam.org before uploading your file to https://www.dropbox.com/request/T0t0p5AXfBWGjzw0tOUh.
